A case study approach will be employed. Media systems in the United States, China, Great Britain, France, Sweden, Lebanon, Ghana, and Mexico will be compared and contrasted both in historic and functional terms. Questions about ownership of media enterprises, control of media messages, and the nature of global audiences will be examined.
