Overview

The mission of the B.B.A. in Accounting program is to prepare students for productive careers in accounting.  Building on a strong liberal arts foundation, Georgia College's undergraduate Accounting program promotes the development of technical accounting knowledge and the communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills necessary for success as an accounting professional.

Career Information

Graduates will find numerous opportunities for rewarding careers in public accounting, industry, finance, non-profit organizations and government. An accounting background also prepares graduates to enter non-business professions such as law, and is a sound basis for advancement to top-level management positions. Graduates will also be well prepared to enter graduate school.

The Master of Accountancy (MAcc) program builds on the knowledge and skills learned in the undergraduate program through examination of advanced accounting topics and business skills in areas identified as critical for success in a challenging and dynamic profession.  The MAcc program is 30 semester hours for qualified accounting majors and satisfies the education requirements to be licensed as a CPA in the State of Georgia.

The 5-Year Track allows current GC undergraduate accounting majors that meet entrance requirements for the MAcc to choose the “early enrollment” program during the senior year of their undergraduate program. This choice provides a seamless transition for the student to commence the MAcc program while completing the BBA.
