Legal Studies Certificate

Undergraduate certificates may only be earned and will only be awarded in conjunction with a bachelor's degree. They will not be awarded as an independent credential.

This certificate offers a formalized learning pathway which will prepare students for the LSAT, law school, and the dense regulatory business world by allowing students to attain an interdisciplinary education that will set them on a path to success regardless of whether or not they ultimately pursue a career in law.

Certificate Requirements

Required Courses

Satisfactorily complete both of the following courses:

LENB 3135	Legal Environment of Business	3
BUAD 2172	Business Ethics	3
Total Credit Hours:		6

Elective Courses

Satisfactorily complete 6 hours from the following courses:

ACCT 3116	Principles of Taxation I	3
ACCT 4125	Principles of Taxation II	3
ECON 3220	International Trade	3
ECON 3620	Industrial Organization	3
LENB 3145	Business Law	3
MGMT 4105	Human Resource Management	3
MGMT 4115	Collective Barg/Labor Relation	3
Total Credit Hours:		6

Some sections of BUAD 4505 or LENB 4505 may also be applied to the elective course requirement; please see faculty coordinator for additional information.

Courses used to fulfill certificate requirements may also be used to fulfill core, major, minor, or other program requirements.
Federal financial aid will not pay for a certificate course unless that course is also necessary to complete a student's required number of hours for the bachelor's degree or another bachelor's degree requirement. Students should contact the Financial Aid Office if they have questions about their federal aid eligibility.
