Additional Minor Requirements

Satisfactorily complete all minor requirements listed in the academic policies section of this catalog.

Earn a grade of C or higher in all courses.

Students interested in minoring in English should contact a member of the English faculty or a professional advisor who will help them schedule their courses.

Note that some English courses have prerequisites and are designed to be taken in sequence. Also note that courses taken in Area C of the core curriculum cannot also count toward the minor.

Students interested in minoring in English with a focus on creative writing should take ENGL 2208 Intro to Creative Writing followed by four 3000-4000-level creative writing courses.

Students interested in minoring in English with a focus on literary analysis should take ENGL 2120 Intro to British Literature, ENGL 2130 American Literature, ENGL 2150 Shakespeare, ENGL 2160 Studies in International Lit, or ENGL 2200 Writing about Literature followed by four 3000-4000-level literature courses.
