BUAD 6611 Comm & the Business Plan

The course presents contemporary management writing in seminar format to give students practical skills for effective writing. Enhancement of communication skills, particularly writing skill, and theories that lead to more persuasive, professional performance will be an integral part of the course. Writing is both a market skill and a gatekeeper. This course will help students develop their writing skill to a level sufficient to allow them to easily and effectively tackle communication challenges as required to both secure employment and promotions as their careers mature.

BUAD 6612 Business Plan

This course will provide students with a theoretical grounding in the literature related to entrepreneurship. They will gain an understanding of the importance of a well-conceived business plan and will explore the various parts of a well-prepared business plan.

BUAD 6613 Practicum

Individually designed an planned learning experience involving an internship, consulting project, or business plan implementation.

BUAD 6620 Business Plan-Entrepreneurial

BUAD 6622 Strategic Communication

Prerequisites: BCOM 6611 and MGMT 6673. A study of the nature, functions, and dynamics of strategic business communication. This course examines models of communication and their relationship to leadership and management styles. The theories presented are applied in various situations experienced at the managerial level in today’s global business environment. Included is a study of the verbal, nonverbal, and listening issues encountered when communicating with a diverse workforce.
