ENGL 2140 Intro to Children's Literature

Prerequisite: ENGL 1102. A comprehensive overview of children's literature, its history and genres, the issues and approaches it has generated, and its links with the major literary movements in adult literature. Other areas of focus will be the changing views of the child and childhood that have evolved over the past two centuries and the various critical approaches to this rapidly developing branch of literary study.
