ARTS 3300 Printmaking II: Relief & Intag

Prerequisites: ARTS 2300. Students are provided with the opportunity to work intensively with the various processes of relief and intaglio printmaking, expanding their artistic vocabulary through the unique visual qualities offered by the wood, linoleum, zinc and copper matrices. Technical and conceptual expectations exceed those of the introductory printmaking course. Students will engage in written historical research related to the media, and through their visual and written work are encouraged to challenge current preconceptions regarding what constitutes printmaking and the fine arts.
