Mission

The mission of the J. Whitney Bunting College of Business is to foster the development of capable business professionals who are responsible citizens grounded in a liberal arts education. The college is dedicated to continuous improvement in business education and professional practice through faculty scholarship.

Introduction

The College of Business offers superior academic programs and exceptional opportunities for students to develop professionally. All of the school's undergraduate and graduate programs are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

Admission

Undergraduates who meet admission requirements for Georgia College, both freshman and transfers from other majors or other institutions, will be admitted directly into the school.

Center for Economic Education

The Center for Economic Education is an affiliate of the Georgia Council on Economic Education and the Joint Council on Economic Education. The purposes of the center are:

  1. To aid teachers in teaching economic and personal finance by conducting in-service and pre-service programs in education.
  2. To coordinate economic education efforts with local civic groups, chambers of commerce, and other groups interested in economic education.
  3. To act as a source of materials and speakers on the topic of economic education. A library of curriculum guides, films, and other materials is housed in Atkinson Hall on the Georgia College campus and is available for public use.

The Economics of Education Policy Center

J. Whitney Bunting College of Business

An Academic Program of Distinction at Georgia College & State University

 

The purpose of the Economics of Education Policy Center is to provide nonpartisan research and technical assistance in the evaluation and design of state and local education policy, including both tax and expenditure issues.  The objective of the Center is to promote the development of sound education policy and public understanding of education issues with the goal of maximizing student learning and achievement.  The Center will inform and stimulate discussion on education policy through activities such as the publication of policy briefs or essays on issues confronting the education system.  The Center will also organize perodic seminars, workshops, luncheons and conferences.

Multimedia Technology Center

The Multimedia Technology Center is a learning and resource center dedicated to providing professional learning experiences to graduate and undergraduate students in the J. Whitney Bunting College of Business.

The Center also provides a variety of multimedia web-based support and development services to the J. Whitney Bunting College of Business, to local busienss and government agencies, and regional organizations in the central Georgia area and beyond.  These services include website development and maintenance, graphic design, desktop publishing services and mobile app development.
