Curriculum and Instruction M.Ed. (Online)

Program Description

The program requires 36 hours of course work designed to prepare candidates with advanced knowledge, skills, and dispositions related to leading K12 curriculum design, development, and evaluation in their respective fields of content specialization. The program is administered using a cohort model in that students begin the program as a group in the summer and finish the next summer. Upon completion of degree requirements and passing the appropriate GACE® assessment, graduates are eligible for level five (5) Georgia Service Certification in Curriculum and Instruction in Georgia.

M.Ed. Admission Requirements

1. Minimum GPA of 2.75
2. Hold or be eligible for a clear renewable, level four (4) Georgia Teacher Certificate
3. Submit University Admissions Form including application fee, if applicable
4. Submit two professional recommendations
5. Submit official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended. Applicants must hold a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution to be eligible for admission into a graduate program at Georgia College.

M.Ed. Advisement

M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction studies are structured according to a program of study that each candidate admitted to the cohort signs during the first semester of the program. The program coordinator administers this process and serves as the program advisor.

M.Ed. Transient Credit

Candidates must enroll in all courses in the program of study at Georgia College.
