Instructional Technology Certification (Online)

Coursework is fully online with no face-to-face class meetings.  There are, however, opportunities to communicate with instructors and classmates in a variety of ways including synchronous, asynchronous, and virtual.

Students in the add-on certification program must already have a Master’s degree and hold T4 certification in a teaching field; or hold certification in another field as outlined with the GaPSC.  

Admission Requirements

2. Two professional recommendations

3. Official copies of all transcripts. Applicants must hold a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution to be eligible for admission into a graduate program at Georgia College.

4. Minimal GPA of 2.75

Certification

Upon meeting all course and examination requirements of this program, an S-5 certificate in Instructional Technology may be issued by the Professional Standards Commission of Georgia.  Georgia College recommendation is required.  GACE testing and certification began Fall 2013.

Note:

  • If you have completed courses in a previous and recently completed graduate program that are equivalent to any of the above course, please identify these to your advisor.
  • Be aware that program and state requirements call for the IT internship to include 100 hours of supervised activities divided (not equally) between elementary, middle, and secondary grade levels. Furthermore, the internship activities should be leadership-focused (e.g., training, professional development, help to faculty and staff).
