MUEN - Music Ensembles

Prerequisite: Instructor permission required for 0 credit. Choral and instrumental ensembles are open to enrollment by graduate students studying in any field. Potential ensembles include but are not limited to: University Chorus, Concert Band, Max Noah Singers, Women's Ensemble, Jazz Band, Improvisation, Brass Ensemble, Chamber Ensemble, Music Theatre Scenes. Some ensembles require audition or permission of the instructor. This course is repeatable for credit.

Prerequisite: Instructor permission required for 0 credit. Study and performance of standard and contemporary band (instrumental) literature. No audition required. Open to all members of the University community. This course is repeatable for credit.

Prerequisites: Instructor permission required for 0 credit. A choral organization made up of select singers. Emphasis on the study and performance of a variety of literature from madrigals and motets to the avant garde. Open by audition to all members of the University community. This course is repeatable for credit. Additional special course fee required; see semester course schedule for amount.

Prerequisite: Instructor permission required for 0 credit. A non-auditioned choral organization focusing on the study and performance of a variety of choral literature specifically for women's voices. Open to any female members of the University community. This course is repeatable for credit. Additional special course fee required; see semester course schedule for amount.

Prerequisite: Instructor permission required for 0 credit. Study and performance in a variety of jazz styles ranging from small combos to big band. This course is repeatable for credit. Co-requisite: MUEN 5010.

Prerequisite: Instructor permission required for 0 credit. Study and performance of music composed and arranged for a brass ensemble (trumpet, trombone, French horn, euphonium and tuba). This course is repeatable for credit.

Prerequisite: Instructor permission required for 0 credit. Study and performance of classical repertory for small instrumental groups, including, string ensemble, brass ensemble, woodwind ensemble, percussion ensemble and other combinations. Open by audition to all members of the University community. This course is repeatable for credit.

Prerequisite: Instructor permission required for 0 credit. A non-auditioned ensemble focusing on the study and performance of string orchestra and full orchestra repertoire of all periods and styles and is comprised of Georgia College students (music majors and non-music majors), faculty and community members. The purpose of the ensemble is to foster musical development, improve technique and master performance skills. This course is repeatable for credit.

Prerequisite: Instructor permission required for 0 credit. The study and performance of scenes taken from various music-theatrical genres, including musical theater, opera, operetta and contemporary interdisciplinary forms. Open by audition to all members of the University community. This course is repeatable for credit.
