Academic Honors

Phi Kappa Phi

The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi was chartered at Georgia College on May 23, 1973. Established in 1897, Phi Kappa Phi is the nation's oldest, largest, and most selective all-discipline honor society. The Society's mission is to recognize and promote academic excellence in all fields of higher education and to engage the community of scholars in service to others.

Selection for membership is based on scholarship. Members are elected from undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty, administration, and alumni. To be considered for membership, undergraduate students must rank in the top 7.5% of the juniors in their respective college and have more than 72 overall semester hours earned at the time of election (including at least 24 institutional hours earned at Georgia College), or rank in the top 10% of the seniors in their respective class.
