Graduate Catalog 2014-2015

Master of Management Information Systems

Mission—MMIS

The Master of Management Information Systems (MMIS) program at Georgia College has been awarding quality degrees since 1989.  Georgia College offers the only graduate management information systems program in middle Georgia.  The MMIS degree is designed to prepare students for a position in designing, implementing and managing corporate information resources or serving as a liaison between a functional area and a centralized IT office.  The curriculum aligns with the required knowledge for the CISA exam, making the MMIS degree a smart choice for individuals interested in a career in IT auditing as well.  This 30 semester hour degree program offers courses in a hybrid format so students get face-to-face classes with the flexibility of online sessions.

According to the 2014 State of the Industry: Technology in Georgia report from Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), technology employment opportunities in Georgia are growing.  Georgia's technology jobs pay more than the average non-technology job and Georgia needs more technology talent to meet the growing demand.  These factors highlight just a few reasons why the MMIS degree is a great advanced degree.

Our students have undergraduate degrees from all majors and work in different functional areas.  You do not need an undergraduate degree in a technology field to select the MMIS degree.

Courses are offered in areas such as:

  • IT Project Management
  • Database Management
  • IT Infrastructure
  • Information Analysis, Process Innovation, and ERP Systems
  • MIS Research / Business Analytics
  • Emerging Trends in MIS
