Master of Education (M.Ed.) In Middle Grades Education with a concentration in Reading, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, or Mathematics (4-8) Emphasizing School Improvement

Program Description

The graduate programs offered in Middle Grades at Georgia College at the T5 certification level are intended for persons who already hold or qualify for a level four (T4) Georgia Teacher's certificate. The advanced level of certification is associated with the completion of the Master of Education degree program in Middle Grades Education. These programs extend and expand the study of the development of young adolescents at an advanced level as outlined in the conceptual framework. Within the context of the master's degree program, candidates are exposed to a wide variety of information related to education and work with young adolescents with particular emphasis on deepening their content knowledge, serving as mentors for beginning teachers, advocating for middle grades students in the larger professional community, and conducting action research in classrooms.
